Belvedere
Concert Band has always been a keen and proactive supporter of local charities,
and over the last 5 years has helped raise over £30,000 from concert
proceeds.
A favourite charity of the Band has been The Ellenor Foundation which provides hospice care in the home. In addition, the Band members give their time freely to concerts at Christmas to help raise funds for such charities as the Greenwich & Bexley Cottage Hospice and Demelza House Children’s Hospice as well as performing at special church services and other fund-raising events.
In July 2009 Belvedere Concert Band joined forces with the Royal Artillery Band, together with guest vocalist Shane Hampsheir, to perform a grand charity concert ‘Music For Heroes’ to a packed audience at The Orchard Theatre, Dartford raising over £12,000 for the two charities – Help for Heroes and EllenorLions Hospices.
